Titles :Mo and Hair on holiday in Scotland and Mo and Hair back in the Dales (Mixed media)
I had so much fun painting these while on holiday in the Yorkshire Dales. I had become fascinated by the black faced sheep ,they looked so sad yet inquisitive. To the surprise of my friend I started collecting the strands of wool from the fences and hedges. The background colours are inspired by a much loved jumper I sadly ruined in the wash! I experimented with heather and grasses mixed with Gesso to obtain the texture and used the wool for the sheep ! - Diane King

This watercolour is entitled snowdrops in preston park. The painting is based on childhood memories of walking our family dog, with my father through a park in the north east of England. The painting attempts to capture my feelings and memories of the area over thirty years ago. The park was each spring transformed by the largest carpet of snowdrops I have ever seen! The park being surrounded by the residue of the areas industrial past, chemical and steel works closed dark and empty ,making the bright small flowers a new beginning each year
Shadow Play
Diane's September 2008 exhibition at Bollington Art Centre, Cheshire, "Shadow Play" was a very successful and enjoyable event. The event and private viewing were well attended, and Diane was delighted to report the sale of 27 paintings and many limited edition prints and cards.
